Product and FEA (Finite Element Analysis): Catenary Stool
Life Cycle Analysis | Fall 2025 | Professor Barent RothThe product design exercise provided an opportunity to explore an interative performance-enhancement workflow using Fusion’s FEA and lightweighting capabilities as well as the Sustainable Minds life cycle analysis tool.
Improvements included electing for 3 rather than 4 legs, optimizing the stool’s profile curve, removing excess material from the seat, making the legs hollow, selecting material thickness, and specifying a low-embodied-energy production process.

3D Printing
GAC + Alterior Office | Fall 2020 | Digital Fabrication Researcher(above): The didactic 3D objects were produced for Alterior Office as physical prototypes for a script designed to visualize spatial distributions of urban pollution data.
(below): These block prototypes were produced for General Architecture Collaborative to model 3D printed molds for modular brick construction.
